Teaching Methodology

Teaching Methodology

At Drakken School, we embrace modern educational practices that prioritize student engagement, independence, and critical thinking. Our approach to teaching is rooted in innovation, combining the Flipped Classroom model with video-assisted learning and in-class discussion.

Grades 5 and Above

  • Home-Based Learning: New topics are introduced via Google Classroom (GCR) with instructional videos and learning resources.
  • In-Class Focus: Class time is used to resolve doubts, review topics, and reinforce understanding through group discussions and video lectures on LCD screens.
  • Teacher’s Role: Teachers serve as facilitators, helping students become independent and active learners.

Grades 4 and Below

  • Classroom Learning: New lessons are taught in class using video-based instruction with teacher guidance.
  • Homework: Google Classroom is used for revision videos; no written submissions are required.
  • Assessments: All assessments are conducted in school under teacher supervision.

Technology and Media Requirements

  • Laptop Requirement: Families with students in Grade 1 and above must have at least one laptop at home.
  • Purpose: To access homework, watch video lessons, and practice computer skills.
  • Kindles: Students in Grade 4 and above may bring Kindles to school for e-books.
  • Devices Not Allowed: iPads and laptops are not permitted in class unless approved by administration.

Netflix Subscription Requirement

  • Mandatory Subscription: All families must maintain a Netflix subscription with parental controls enabled.
  • Why Netflix?
