Junior Section (Grade 3 to Grade 5)
The Junior Section at Drakken, encompassing Grades 3 to 5, focuses on strengthening academic foundations and nurturing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. This section prepares students for higher education by providing a balance between core subjects and extracurricular activities.

Curriculum Overview
The curriculum for Grades 3 to 5 is designed to enhance students' knowledge and skills in various subjects, with a strong emphasis on academic excellence, teamwork, and individual growth:
- Mathematics: Further development of problem-solving skills, geometry, fractions, and algebra concepts.
- Language Arts: Enhancing reading comprehension, creative writing, grammar, and vocabulary development.
- Science: Introducing physical, earth, and life sciences, with hands-on experiments and real-world applications.
- Social Studies: Understanding the world through history, geography, and global issues.
- ICT: Building computer literacy, basic coding, and digital tools for education.

Learning Activities
In the Junior Section, students are engaged in a variety of activities that promote creativity, teamwork, and practical learning:

- Interactive language and math competitions to reinforce learning concepts
- Physical education classes focusing on fitness and sportsmanship

Assessments & Progress
In the Junior Section, assessments are an integral part of student development. We use various assessment tools to monitor and evaluate progress:
- Term-Based Evaluation: Drakken follows a three-term system with no separate final exams. Each term contributes equally to the final result, emphasizing consistent performance over time.
- Progression Criteria: Students must maintain a minimum average of 60% across all three terms to progress to the next grade level.
- Types of Assessments: Weekly quizzes, class tests (CTs), and grand tests (GTs) are used for evaluation. GTs are centrally managed and cannot be retaken, while CTs and quizzes may be repeated with approval.
- Student Performance Reports (SPR): Weekly reports provide feedback on quizzes and CTs (excluding Early Years), reinforcing a continuous assessment model instead of traditional final exams.
