Assessment and Reporting

The academic year is divided into three terms, each culminating in a Term Exam. Assessments include:

  • Three terms contribute equally to the final result. No final exams are conducted separately.
  • Students must achieve a minimum 60% average across all three terms in Grades 1 to 6, and 70% in Grades 7 and above to meet progression criteria.
  • This performance counts as 70% of the overall term score.

Types of Assessments:

  • Quizzes: Conducted by subject teachers (3–5 per week).
  • Class Tests (CT): Managed weekly by section heads.
  • Grand Tests (GT): Term tests centrally administered by management. No retests allowed for missed GTs.
  • CT & Quizzes can be repeated with approval from class teachers and section heads.

Performance Reports:

Students (except Early Years) receive a Weekly Student Performance Report (SPR) summarizing progress in class tests and quizzes. This directly impacts the final result and reinforces continuous assessment over traditional annual exams.

Drakken’s term-based system emphasizes consistent performance and eliminates year-based progression.

Marksheet System:

  • Each term ends with a Term Academic Marksheet (TAM) combining SPR and term exam results.
  • At year-end, all three TAMs are consolidated into a Yearly Academic Marksheet (YAM).

Special Notes

  • Combined Assessments: Until Grade 4, Urdu & Islamiyat, and English & Science will be merged into two-hour exams.
  • Grand Tests (G6 onwards): Conducted after each topic; results contribute to term scores.
  • Exam Schedule: Shared via Google Classroom; held during regular school hours.
  • No Prep Days: Exams occur within class time, eliminating separate exam days.

Purpose:

The assessment strategy is designed to reduce evaluation stress, support continuous learning, and encourage student growth through focused and consistent academic effort.
