Islamic Education – Why Drakken?

Islamic Education

A Balanced Curriculum Rooted in Faith

At Drakken, students experience a curriculum where Quranic studies hold equal importance alongside the Cambridge curriculum. Despite being a modern Cambridge-affiliated school, Drakken places great emphasis on nurturing the spiritual development of its students.

Islamic teachings are deeply integrated into daily academic life, ensuring students grow intellectually and spiritually in harmony. Drakken honors the Islamic faith by creating an environment where academic excellence and religious values coexist seamlessly.

The school proudly facilitates boys to perform Zuhr prayers in the school mosque, while girls have a separate prayer area designed with care and respect for privacy and modesty. This structure fosters a strong sense of identity and responsibility toward religious obligations.

Students also conduct sermons every Friday, encouraging public speaking, leadership, and deeper reflection on Islamic teachings. Additionally, an ‘Ayat of the Week’ is shared in Google Classrooms, helping students reflect on Quranic guidance and connect it to their daily lives.

Arabic language and Quranic education—including understanding and tajweed—is a core part of the curriculum, enabling students to read the Quran correctly and comprehend its meaning.
